Will my information be passed on to anyone else except Mountain Rescue Teams and the Police?
No, your information will not be passed on to any third party.

How long will the records be kept?
Information will be held indefinitely, although TWSMRT does reserve the right to remove records at any time and without notice. You can also remove your own trips at any time if you wish.

What should I do if I don't know exactly where I will go until I arrive at my start point?
If you have a back-up route simply submit both routes - it is probably wise to indicate this in your remarks.

What fields do I have to fill in?
The only details that we must have are Email and Password. These allow your record to be uniquely identified. A username can be used in place of your email address. However, we recommend that you provide as much other information as possible.

Does use of MyTrips.org.uk cost anything?
No. MyTrips.org.uk is provided free of charge by TWSMRT in conjunction with supporting Police forces and Mountain Rescue Teams. Donations to TWSMRT are always welcome.

Which parts of the county are covered by MyTrips.org.uk?
Currently coverage is limited to Northumberland, County Durham, Swaledale and Cleveland. Searches and Rescues outside these areas will not usually be co-ordinated by supporting Teams so the information would not be readily available to search co-ordinators.

How is MyTrips.org.uk Funded?
MyTrips.org.uk was initially supported by an AOL Community Award. All maintenance is provided by volunteers.

Can I make a donation to help support MyTrips.org.uk?
Yes. Click on "Make a Donation" and follow the instructions. If you don't already have a Paypal account you will be asked to set one up. Setting up a Paypal account costs you nothing and they will only charge you if you make a payment.

Can I giftaid my donation?
Yes. Donations to MyTrips.org.uk can be giftaided. Gift Aid allows TWSMRT to reclaim the basic rate tax you have already paid on the money you donate. It can increase the value of your gift by up to 28p on every pound. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount the TWSMRT will claim in the tax year. You just have to complete a declaration saying that you pay enough tax to cover what TWSMRT will reclaim from HM Revenue & Customs. To giftaid your donation we require your name and address - these will not be used to send you mass mailings or passed onto any third party.

Can I include my address and other information?
Yes. If you want to include your address please add it to the remarks section.

What types of trip can I include?
All outdoor trips long or short. For example, walking, canoeing, cycling, fishing, climbing, shooting, off roading, gorge-walking, etc...

How long can I remain logged in on the website?
If you do not open a new page for more than 20 minutes you will be automatically logged out. If in doubt save your changes and then update later.

Why are the spaces removed from my phone number and my vehicle registration?
We automatically remove all spaces to make searches easier. If you have multiple phone numbers or registrations please separate them with a comma.

What type of computer do I need to use MyTrips.org.uk?
We will try and make MyTrips.org.uk complient will all browsers and operating systems. If you have a compatability problem please let us know and we will try and fix it.
